Alisa Musanovic is a Global Leadership Fellow at Polar Research and Policy Initiative. She is a graduate of a History BA at the University of Oxford and a recent graduate of an International Double Master’s Degree jointly studied at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at UCL and University of Helsinki. The interdisciplinarity of the programme enabled her to engage with a variety of departments, where she developed an interest in migration, area studies, informal practices and cultural history. Her degree culminated in a dissertation comparing Polish residents’ cultural experiences during communism with today. She is looking to bring her expertise of Polish history and Polish language skills to PRPI to help illuminate links between Eastern Europe and the Arctic region.
