Dr Maria L. Lagutina is a member of the PRPI – BRICS Engagement Forum Steering Committee.
Dr Lagutina is Associate Professor, Vice-head of World Politics Department at St. Petersburg State University, was trained as a PhD in Political Science (2006, St. Petersburg State University). Her research focuses on global governance, international cooperation in the Arctic and Arctic interests of non-Arctic states. In 2015, she participated in the General Assembly of the Northern Forum (Yakutsk, Russia) and in a Breakout session Panel on Arctic security at the Arctic Circle Assembly III, speaking about International Crises’ Impact on Arctic Cooperation. She is a member of the Russian Geographical Society and the International Studies Association.
