On 5 April 2017, Polar Research and Policy Initiative Director Dr Dwayne Ryan Menezes visited Finland, where he highlighted the opportunities for trade and investment between the UK and the eight Arctic Council member states at Northern STARS, the annual international seminar of the Lapin AMK – Lapland University of Applied Sciences. The seminar focuses on innovative business and creative entrepreneurship in the Arctic and attracted over 250 guests from Rovaniemi and Tornio this year. “This hugely important seminar owes its success”, he says, “to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Lapin AMK’s students and to the foresight and teaching excellence of lecturers such as Anzelika Krastina.”
