Arthur Amelot serves as Fellow and Country Lead for France at Polar Research and Policy Initiative. He is a freelance consultant specialising in polar affairs, and most particularly the relations between France, the EU, the Arctic and Greenland.
He holds two masters: one in European and international politics from the European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL), where he dedicated his first thesis on studying the Arctic Economic Council’s influence on the emergence of what has been coined as “Arctic Economic Governance”; the other in EU international relations and diplomacy studies from the College of Europe, where he completed a second thesis on studying the influence of China’s Arctic ambition on EU-Greenland relations.
Parallelly to its involvement with The Polar Connection, Arthur Amelot is a member of the National Committee on Arctic and Antarctic Research (CNFRAA), the French Committee of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS France) and acts as an Associated Junior Fellow at NATO Defense College.
