Niamh McGhee is a Global Leadership Fellow at Polar Research and Policy Initiative. She is a recent graduate from the University of Glasgow, having completed a MSc in Political Communication. Her past research has centred on candidate social media communication during electoral campaigns, with a particular focus on populism and misinformation related to COVID-19. She has developed a passion for climate diplomacy, having worked at the COP26 Conference in Glasgow, which led her to pursue a position at the PRPI. She also studied Spanish and Politics at the University of Edinburgh as an undergraduate, achieving First Class Honours and maintain a keen interest in Spanish and Latin American politics and culture.
